About NWPA

NWPA.Design is a one-person design studio in Northwest Pennsylvania. I work with local businesses and organizations on branding, websites, and print design.
I started this because I kept seeing good businesses around here struggle with their visual presence—not because they didn’t care, but because they didn’t have access to designers who understood what they actually needed. Most agencies either cost too much or treat smaller clients like an afterthought.
I think every business deserves design that works for them, whether you’re in small or have 100 employees.

When you work with me, you work with me.

I handle every project myself—the initial conversation, the design, revisions, and delivery. No project managers, no handoffs to junior designers, no confusion about who you’re talking to.
This means:
• You get consistent communication throughout the project
• I understand your business well enough to make good design decisions
• We can move at a pace that makes sense for your schedule
• Nothing gets lost in translation
I’ve found this is what most small business owners actually want—someone who listens, gets it, and follows through.
I’ve lived in Northwest Pennsylvania long enough to understand how businesses operate here. Most of my clients aren’t trying to be the next viral brand—they’re trying to be the place people trust and come back to.

That requires a different approach to design. Your logo needs to work on a storefront sign, not just on Instagram. Your website needs to load fast on rural internet and actually explain what you do—no vague mission statements or buzzwords.

My Approach

I care more about your design working than looking trendy. A few things I prioritize:
• Clarity—your customers should immediately understand what you do
• Appropriateness—the design should match who you actually are, not who you think you should be
• Durability—it should still look good in five years, not feel dated in six months
• Practicality—it needs to work in real situations, not just look good in a portfolio
I’m not chasing awards or trying to build a flashy portfolio. I’m trying to make sure the businesses I work with have the tools they need to succeed.

Overview

Design here is practical.

I want to understand your business first—what you do, who you’re trying to reach, what’s working and what isn’t. Sometimes people come to me knowing exactly what they need. Other times, they just know something feels off about their current branding or website.

Both are fine. We figure it out together.

From there, I’ll put together a plan and start designing. You’ll see work in progress and have chances to give feedback before anything is finalized. I’m not interested in surprising you with a “big reveal”—I’d rather make sure we’re on the same page as we go.
